   Appendix 7 Jr. World Requirements

The Championships will be for skaters in dance, figures, free skating and pairs who are at least twelve (I2) years of age and not yet eighteen (18) years of age as of January I in the year of the Championships. In order to be eligible to compete in the Junior World Championships, a skater who has competed in the previous World Senior Championships must not have placed in the first ten (10) places at the Senior World Championships in the particular event that the skater wishes to enter in. (When Senior and Junior Championships are held at the same time, a skater cannot enter both.)
The F.I.R.S. Rules on World Championships shall also apply to the Junior World Championships.
A nation wishing to hold a Junior World Championship must submit a bid to the C.I.P.A. office at least one year in advance.
An organization fee of 25,000 SWF, paid in U.S. dollars is to be paid to C.I.PA. by the organizing country. (When a Junior and Senior World Championship is held at the same time, the organization fee for the Junior World Championships is waived.)
The individual entry fee per skater shall be $80.00 U.S. dollars. The Federation fee will be $200.00 U.S. dollars.
A maximum of ten (I 0) international 'A' judges should be invited. All other rules and regulations will be the same as for the Senior World Championships.

Free Skating Championships

Set Elements

1.  Axel - single or double

2.  Toe Assisted Jump - MEN - single, double, or triple; LADIES - single or double

3.  Combination of Jumps - minimum three (3) jumps, maximum five (5) jumps to include at least one jump with two (2) revolutions. (No more than two revolutions for the ladies).

4.  Class A Spin - select from the following (entry and exit optional):
  • Inverted Camel (any edge)
  • Broken Ankle (forward or backward)
  • Heel Camel (forward or backward)
  • Layover Camel (any edge)
  • Jump Camel
  • Jump Sit
  • 5.  Spin Combination - two (2) or three (3) positions with or without change of Must include a sit spin (any edge). At least three (3) revolutions in each position. Entry and exit optional.

    6.  One Footwork Sequence - Advanced footwork to comply with the new prescribed footwork regulation. See page 50.

    Ladies - No triple jumps to be included in any element.

    Men - No more than one triple jump in short programme. Only the above listed set elements can be included in the Short Programme. This means no extra elements. You cannot repeat any jump in the short programme when there has been a visible preparation.

    There are NO restrictions on elements in the Long Programme.

    Pairs Skating

    Short Programme: 2 minutes 30 seconds plus or minus 5 seconds. Set Elements.
    Long Programme: 4 minutes plus or minus l0 seconds

    Set Elements

    1.  Death Spiral - any --edge - at least one (1) revolution

    2.  Contact Spin - any combination. Each change of position must be held for at least two (2) revolutions. The change from one position to another is not counted as a revolution

    3-4.  Two Different One Position - maximum four (4) rotations of the man. Adagio type movements at the end of the lift are not allowed.

    5.  One Shadow Jump - no combination. Must be a recognized jump. NO TRIPLE JUMPS TO BE INCLUDED.

    6.  One Shadow - no combination. Must be recognized spin, minimum of three (3) revolutions.

    7.  One Footwork Sequence - Advanced footwork to comply with the new prescribed footwork regulation. See page 50

    8.  Twist/Throw Lift

    ONLY THE LISTED ELEMENTS ABOVE CAN BE INCLUDED IN THE SHORT PFIOGRAMME -THIS MEANS NO EXTRA ELEMENTS.
